The Boards of Directors of the Transportation Corridor Agencies (TCA), comprised of the San Joaquin Hills (SJHTCA) and Foothill/Eastern (F/ETCA) Transportation Corridor Agencies, selected Axiom xCell Inc. (Axiom) to provide day-to-day maintenance updates and management for The Toll Roads’ app.
TCA – operator of the 73, 133, 241 and 261 Toll Roads in Orange County – was the first toll road operator in the nation to offer a free app for toll account management. Since its debut in 2013, more than 120,000 FasTrak®, ExpressAccount® and One-Time-Toll® customers log onto the app monthly to pay tolls, maintain their accounts or resolve violations.
The app contract is expected to be a three-year agreement with an estimated $237,000 value. Some key highlights and features of Axiom’s contract include:
- Integration of ApplePay, Google Pay and PayPal
- Push notifications for customers who opt-in
- Vehicle plate photo capture and optical character recognition
- Landscape orientation compatibility
- iPhone Face ID compatibility
- Modifications to support future FasTrak and ExpressAccount simplifications
“Customer service is a high priority for TCA and awarding this contract is part of our ongoing effort to continue enhancing customer service for the 325,000 daily drivers of Orange County’s 51-mile Toll Road system,” said F/ETCA Chairwoman Christina Shea and Irvine Mayor Pro Tem. “The Toll Roads’ app allows our nearly 1.5 million accountholders and daily users to establish and maintain their accounts, pay tolls or resolve violations from their handheld devices.”
The Toll Roads’ app provides instant access to edit account information, view account balances, add or remove vehicles, request additional FasTrak transponders, review recent activity and make payments. Search "The Toll Roads” in the Apple App or Google Play stores to download The Toll Roads' app. Customers without an Apple or Android device can visit TheTollRoads.com from any mobile device to manage their account or pay tolls.
The Transportation Corridor Agencies (TCA) are two joint powers authorities formed by the California legislature in 1986 to plan, finance, construct and operate Orange County’s public toll road system. Fifty-one miles of the system are complete, including the 73, 133, 241 and 261 Toll Roads. TCA continues to meet the region’s growing need for congestion-free transportation alternatives.
