Will I be charged if I keep the transponder(s) that I had prior to July 1, 2019?

No. You will not be charged for keeping transponder(s) that were in our possession prior to July 1, 2019 – including standard hardcase, switchable hardcase and external transponders. Additionally, starting July 1, 2019, transponders will not be charged an account maintenance fee. Additional switchable and external transponders are available for purchase. Sticker transponders are free.

Due to processing and fulfillment delays, switchable FasTrak® transponders are out of stock until September 2020.

Sticker transponders can be used to pay tolls on every tolled bridge, lane and road in California.

Toll-free or discounted travel for qualifying carpools and other eligible vehicles is available on some toll facilities and requires a switchable transponder. Drivers with sticker transponders pay the full toll regardless of eligibility.

A switchable transponder can be obtained by opening up an account with one of California’s other tolling agencies. For a list of toll facilities and agencies, visit FasTrak throughout California.
