Background


Acquired by the Foothill/Eastern Transportation Corridor Agency in 2010, the Strawberry Farms restoration site is located within the 360-acre Quail Hill Preserve in Irvine. At the site TCA has restored and enhanced coastal sage scrub, cactus scrub and native perennial grassland to establish a mosaic of habitat for native species, including the federally listed coastal California gnatcatcher and coastal cactus wren. 

Current Activities


Today, the site is resilient and self-sustaining. 

Species


From birds to butterflies, Strawberry Farms is home to many species. More than 100 plant and animal species have been observed at the site. Some of the wildlife that can be found at the site are:
